Intern Company Membership
Cadence Theatre Company in partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre offers internships for qualified college students, graduates and young professionals who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater. Internships are available as full-season or part-season contracts, at the discretion of the Artistic and Managing Director and Production Manager. We accept interns in the areas of administration, marketing, production and dramaturgy. The internship is designed to give aspiring professionals necessary and valuable training to gain employment in their field(s) of interest. To that end, interns are assigned projects and responsibilities that are vital to the day-to-day running of the company. Additionally, interns’ relationships with their supervisor ensure that they are not only gaining valuable skills but also receiving helpful feedback and support.

I feel so thrilled to have interned at Cadence for a full year! They produce excellent, thought-provoking, high quality works. The small size of the company let me explore many different areas of nonprofit theatre and receive individual attention, which allowed me to significantly develop professionally. My work at Cadence Theatre Company not only prepared me for the professional theatre world, but also taught me the true value of collaboration in the arts.
