Cadence Cinema Film & TV Presents the #HorrorTok and 1-Minute Horror Film Fest
Like scary movies!? More importantly, do you like to make scary movies? If so, we want to see them! And this year, we’d like to see them not only on YouTube, but all social media, including TikTok as well! With Halloween around the corner, October is the perfect time for you to make those scary short films you’ve been dreaming up since last fall.
What is HorrorTok? Simply put, it’s horror films (and horror film content) made on TikTok. Short, scary movies that run a minute or less that you can share with your friends and other users on TikTok. Don’t have social media? Make a 1-minute horror film on your phone, submit it, and we will play it on our social media outlets!

RULES
1) 1 minute or less
2) Your film must contain ONE of the following:
A jump scare, a lighting change, special effects makeup, or camera used as a POV of a character.
Be creative! Use the above rules as a jumping off point for your horror film. Grab the viewer as quickly as you can with spooky imagery and leave us wanting more! Of course, we want your film to scare us, but please, keep the content PG-13. No excessive profanity or violence.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO SUBMIT
1) Send your 1-minute film to cadencecinemafilmandtv@gmail.com. Be sure to put the title of your movie and your name in the movie title file. And .mov or .mp4 files work best. Include your contact email and school (if participating through a school).
2) Upload your movie on your own TikTok and use the hashtag “#cadencecinemafilmtvHorrorTok” in your video description.
Submission is FREE! You may submit up to three films per filmmaker or filmmaking team. Ages 14 and up encouraged to submit!!
DEADLINE
Friday, October 28th at midnight! Winners will be announced November 1st.
Winners of #HorrorTok and the 1-minute Film Festival will have the most views and likes.
PRIZES
Participating school teachers will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

2nd PLACE (both categories): $50 Amazon Gift Card
