This season offers a rich blend of world premieres, timeless classics, and innovative site-specific work that celebrates resilience, imagination, and the power of live storytelling.
Long Day’s Journey Into Night

September 26–October 11, 2025 | The Carol Piersol Stage at Firehouse Theatre
Widely recognized as one of the greatest plays in American and world theatre, O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize–winning masterpiece portrays a single day in the turbulent life of the Tyrone family. Addiction, unfulfilled dreams, and the complexities of love intertwine in this searing portrait of fragility and forgiveness. Cadence is partnering with CultureWorks’ artoberVA program on October 2 to offer a pay-what-you-will performance.
This production is dedicated to the memory of Carol Piersol, the beloved Founding Artistic Director of Firehouse Theatre.

Bogie and Zane’s weekly trip to their favorite record shop takes an unexpected turn when they meet Sage, the shop’s new owner. A witty and tender new play about late-in-life romance, vinyl treasures, and finding connection in the digital age. Individual show tickets will be available this fall.

In partnership with Firehouse Theatre, Cadence presents the world premiere of WitchDuck. Based on the true story of Grace Sherwood, Virginia’s last convicted witch, this darkly comic and subversive new play pulls history to the surface with humor, defiance, and a sharp feminist edge.
