Program Information
This audition is for the roles in the Youth Company, an educational, tuition-based training and performance program. Participants receive professional instruction and mentorship throughout the rehearsal and performance process while developing skills in acting, singing, dancing, collaboration, and theatrical storytelling. Tuition information and financial assistance opportunities will be provided as part of the audition registration process.
Cadence and THE HOUSE. are seeking youth performers ages 8–18 for this special holiday production. This production will feature two alternating casts working alongside a professional adult company.

Audition Sign-Up
All performers must complete the audition registration form and reserve an audition time slot prior to auditions.
Please complete the form in its entirety, including all known conflicts. While rehearsals will primarily take place on Wednesdays, certain principal roles and featured ensemble members may be called for Sunday evening rehearsals, so it is important that all Sunday conflicts are listed on the audition form.

*Please note that not receiving a callback does not mean you have not been cast. Callbacks are used only for specific casting decisions, and many performers may be cast without being asked to attend callbacks.
What to Prepare
Matilda
Prepare "Naughty" beginning at 2:53 ("Just because you feel that life's not fair...") through the end of the song.
Bruce
Prepare "Revolting Children" from the beginning through "my mommy says I'm a miracle" (:51).
All Other Roles
Prepare "When I Grow Up" from the beginning through "before you're grown up" (:55).
All auditionees should be prepared to participate in a dance call.
If you are unable to attend auditions due to travel or other circumstances, please email casting@cadencetheatre.org to discuss submitting a video audition.
Scenes to prepare for will be sent out by mid-July, but youth will not have to read at the initial auditions.

Technical rehearsals will take place in the evenings at the Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse. Attendance at all scheduled technical rehearsals is required.
