Inspired by the beloved book by Roald Dahl, Matilda The Musical tells the story of an extraordinary young girl with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind. Armed with courage, intelligence, and a little bit of magic, Matilda dares to change her own story—and inspires everyone around her to do the same. Featuring a thrilling score by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly, this Tony Award-winning musical is a joyous celebration of resilience, rebellion, and the power of storytelling.

Program Information

Auditions have closed. The Cadence’s holiday musical Youth Company is an educational, tuition-based training and performance program. Participants receive professional instruction and mentorship throughout the rehearsal and performance process while developing skills in acting, singing, dancing, collaboration, and theatrical storytelling. This production will feature two alternating casts working alongside a professional adult company.

*Certain principal roles and featured ensemble members may be called for Sunday evening rehearsals. Please indicate all Sunday conflicts on your audition form.

Technical Rehearsals

December 3–10

Technical rehearsals will take place in the evenings at the Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse. Attendance at all scheduled technical rehearsals is required.
